Within the first one hundred and eighty (180) days, a new executive will: have an in-depth understanding of the corporate culture; recognize the vision, mission and values of the organization; and have a good idea on how they might influence the organization and improve operating results. Is their understanding consistent with the critical work-related group(s)? Three questions can can get the executive and his or her work groups on the road to a greater understanding.
- What has changed since he/she came to the company?
- What has stayed the same since he/she came to the company?
- What needs to change to improve group performance?
A follow-up facilitated session provides a platform for improving the executive’s perceptions and creating the group dynamics necessary for peak performance. These three simple questions, facilitated from an outside persepctive, can enable the group to grow and come together in a more meaningful way.
